Where are those files actually stored? iTunes is a playlist manager, it doesn't actually store then in the program, They'll be in your my music folder? or an iTunes folder? Find where they are then simply copy all the files/folders to the new location.

Then open iTunes and:
3) Edit > Preferences > Advanced

Look for your Music path (like C:\Users\El3utterfly\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music) change this path to that of the newly transferred files. So like: D:\music\itunes music)

Then save and close. You can then delete the old collection after they've transferred. Then open iTunes and your good.  :)

Moving the library is the main step, but thinking about it now, Your play lists will still be pointing to the wrong location...
If you haven't got millions of songs, then it might be a good idea to simply click "add folder to library" and allow iTunes to add the music all over again from the new location...

I might be wrong, I'm not sure how the latest iTunes will deal with the play lists. It may change the path to them when you move the path to the library...  :-/

i dont update itunes reguarlly- because i have 3 ipods to update as well.

Maybe i will just play with it and see what happens.

Thanks for your tips though.

Your music won't be lost using the first reply.. Only your playlists like "favourite songs" etc.. might not work.. but only a possibility if so you'd just have to remake them...
