So yeah, my mic is built in my monitor, I record something and get a beeep in the background. Real weird. I can hear myself just a irritating beep in the back. :o

Try opening the advanced volume panel, with all the controls and mute everything else except the microphone, even the wav (which is the output in XP).
That'll tell us if it's interference somewhere from another line. So JUST the microphone active, everything else muted, in both recording and playback panels then record a few seconds. Mute the mic, un mute the rest and listen. Hear the beep still?

Let's narrow it down..  ;)

In that case it's more than likely interference or a design flaw/fault with the microphone in the monitor.
You can get a cheap one for a couple quid, PC mics are all much of a muchness really...

it must be the settings, because when recording a video on my webcam, it captures the audio without the irritating beep.

Wait, I presumed when you said about your webcam, that your webcam is using it's built in microphone? Is that not correct?

You mean you tried the microphone on different recording devices? And it still gives you the beep? Then if so, sounds like you've got yourself a dodgy mic.. Being inside the monitor is probably part of it...

Not sure I understood that.. But congrats anyway..

And btw.
Pink = Microphone
Blue = Line In
Green = Line out.

The blue wire which connects desktop to the pc, It had a green and pink wire coming off it, Since I knew the pink was a mic I took it out and replaced it with a normal mic (instead of the desktop one) And it worked.
