Everyone must have done this, so i guess i'll do the same...

It's one of those smart looking pictures with everything black & white but one thing is colour... Usually a bright colour.
So here is Britney Spears with colour in her shades and bag only, some posterization and Gaussian blur too......

Yup, We, well most of us, have done it many times. It always amazes me though, how some peeps are amazed by the  effect. I do quite a bit of photography. used to it semi- pro once upon a time. even judged competions both national and international. But I must admint you almost got the Mona Lisas' smile in your earlier image. Somehow, I dont know why, it reminds me of something by Mr Bean! only kidding there matey  ;D

here is one of mine for you to critique  ;)

Wolfie, You should check this out... This is much more pro.. http://geekimo.com/m-1224041855/

The Britney image at the start of this thread was just a mess about at about 3am... lol

To criticize your image, There isn't enough contrast between the B&W and colors to give that effect. If the wall behind was desaturated and the balaclava thing and other bits of clothing that remain colored were much brighter, i think the effect would have been more profound..  :)

Thanks for posting that though. Is one of them you?  :-/

NO sireee... I am much younger that that . And 10/10 for critique. I have put my version of one of yours somewhere on the board that should show you how to limit the effect yore after. It works to be subltle with most changes you make. When Adobe first hit the amature snappers. the temptetion to "overdo" was predominant. And some weird and not so wonderful images were seen all aver the place in camera clubs.

I understand less can be more a lot of the time. But with a lot of those images, It was a striking difference i was after. Subtlety would have subtracted from the effect In My Opinion..  :P
