Professional Photoshop Magazine Retouch

I spent around 2 hours on this.
Adjusting the shape of her nose, cheeks, eyes, eye brows, hair parting, chin and lips.
Spent a short time changing her hair colour. Then spent a while adding more definition to her face, adjusting levels to a more pleasing range, Applied lipstick, Coloured those eyes, Cleaned up her few tiny spots and smoothed her skin.
I was going to give her slightly larger bOObies, But because it's such a front on shot, (not from a higher angle) you can't really tell unless they were huge which wouldn't suit her anyway...
This is my most professional work so far I'd think... It's not perfect. I've noticed problems with it already but it's decent.. :)

Looks overall better, nicer, cuter.

BUT she looks like she just came out of a computer game or painting, her smiles a bit too wide, i like the hair, eyes are a bit too dark.
Because the face is overall smaller the neck/shoulders look too big.

It is better but it doesnt look like a photo anymore.

looks pretty damn good to me... i'll admit, there are some things there that might strike me as odd if i saw it in a magazine somewhere, but i'm not sure if those feelings are accurate, or just because i knew beforehand that it was 'shopped...

i think it's the color tone... i can't put my finger on it, but that might be it.  either that, or it's just too flawless.  hair and eyes look good, i don't particularly agree about the neck/shoulders, she still looks proportioned properly to me.

The shoulders/neck thing didn't concern me either, Looks fine.

I know the colours are a little stronger than they should have been, But only slightly I think...

I think I made her eyes a little too intense and about the "too flawless", I agree. I smoothed out her skin, way too much, Lost all texture to it. That was by biggest mistake I think....

Still live and learn ay! I've just installed Photoshop CS4 and it's a big improvement, Uses the power of the GPU to do what it does best. Process images, taking the load off the CPU. Also there is a 64-Bit version too. So it's a massive improvement over CS3... After spending a few days getting used to it. I'll keep practising.. Roll out some more re-touches soon.. (dance)

Thanks for the feedback btw, Appreciated!  ;)

no problem.  i haven't used PS for a while now...been a couple years since i did any graphic work.  i've mostly been using paint.net for any web graphics that i need to make, although they're nowhere near as elaborate as that.

did just install CS3 the other day, I need to make some flyers for a going away party.

Oh nice!.
I've used Paint.net before, had too, to write a quick review of it for a download site i run. http://filequake.com . I liked paint.net, even though the GIMP seemed a bit more powerful, Paint.net's more user friendly interface was a big bonus...

i think the hair looks unrealistic to me. Looks like somebody just spent 5 hours fixing it up. But it still looks nice.

a theird? Where is the 2nd?  :-/

And please don't compare GIMP, Paint shop pro or even corel draw x4, but especially not Paint.net with Photoshop... Because I may have to start crying.. You don't want to see a crying administrator do you?  ;D
Photoshop is in it's own league... Corel Draw is the only thing that comes close but even with that, the difference is enormous.

There is only two reasons people choose anything other than Photoshop, 1st, because they can't afford it, or 2nd, they don't know how to use it. Unless of course they simply don't need anything as advanced as that...

You can't post a second i-CONICA, Nothing comes close to photo shop, I think maybe GIMP is alot better than paint.net and maybe corel draw better. But paint.net 3rd from my experiences, Never used gimp or corel draw.
