seen some of ya other work here, had a neat idea, dont know if it'll work or if ya can do it, but id like to see a black man turned white and a white man turned black. I'm black if ya good with geography and you look at my name you'll see where i'm at.

that'd be sweet to seen

Changing skin colour from black to white or white to black is MUCH harder than it sounds.
Changing to a colour like green or blue to look like an alien is much easier because we don't see aliens every day.
We are used to seeing the skin tones of the various races on a daily basis and our eyes are very good at spotting the differences.

I needed to remove the brown skin colour, replace it with a pinker colour, then adjust levels because it's not just skin colour, luminosity comes into play too. Even highly skilled professionals struggle with this and achieve fairly poor results... I'm quiet proud of my effort considering the above...

[size=9]Just to say, I chose Obama because he's a very famous public black guy at the moment and it makes this thread more topical. It's nothing to do with race, nothing to do with Obama being a black president and suggests nothing. It's purely to demonstrate if it can be done and if so, how well...[/size]

I tried to turn John Mcain black, to reverse the experiment and to just reiterate there are no racial motives for this.
But guess what's much harder than turning a black guy white? Turning a white guy black, it's near impossible.
My attempts so far have all failed. I'll keep working on the methods, see what I can come up with...

Here's a somewhat improved version. I figured, once i've got him as white as he is in my first attempt, adjusting that to be completely white shouldn't be very difficult.. and it wasn't...

This is about as good as it'll get I think...

I've seen better ones, but those are from real professionals from dedicated photoshop websites and magazines. But mine isn't too bad...  :-/
