Googles 10th Birthday

With the 7th just 24 hours away from writing this, Google is preparing for it's tenth birthday! That's right! The site which is probably your home page is ten years old tomorrow!

Monday September 7th 1998 marked the start of "Google Inc" Founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page.

Now google is worth over $150 BILLION and is the most used home page in the world. With the common phrase "Google it" rather than "search it" or "yahoo it"...

In that ten years, Google has been both the enemy and the friend of web masters all over the world.
Friend because, get it right and google will send millions of users your way.
Enemy because, get it wrong and you've got no hope. Google is most websites main source of visitors.
We all try our best to understand how google works, Exactly what google wants to see on our sites and provide that. But the truth is, Few people actually know. All we can do is "learn from the best"..
A good way of doing this is googling a term we want to be found from, Looking at the top one or two results if its a popular term and looking at what they're doing that your not.
It may simply be down to domain age, which google relies on heavily.
Google doesn't like the new guy...
