Google & Firefox Relationship "Difficult"

Quote from: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/244269/mozilla-chrome-has-complicated-relations-with-google.html
Mozilla CEO John Lilly has admitted the Firefox maker's relationship with Google has become "more complicated" since the company launched its own browser.

Mozilla is dependent on Google for the vast majority of its revenue and has previously worked closely with the search king's engineers on the development of Firefox.

But that relationship appears to have cooled since Google released Chrome in the summer. "We have a fine and reasonable relationship," John Lilly, Mozilla's CEO, said in an interview with Computerworld. "But I'd be lying if I said that things weren't more complicated than they used to be.

If Google really wanted, they could easily sink Firefox into the ground. Will they? I hope not but how far will they go to push they're browser on us?
Google seem to already be getting an "uncool" reputation similar to Microsoft's.

The search engine side of google is just tip of the iceberg. They're much more influencial than that now.
They're also the biggest online marketing company, biggest ad network.
They own Youtube etc...
They could easily swallow Firefox if they really wanted to.
Not sure where lawsuits would stand though...

No feaking wonder thing's are tense, Google wanted their share of the action and there was bound to be some kind of problem.

I can't tell if this is over-agressive advertising or just pure thoughlessness.

It seems to me that Google is now doing exactly what Microsoft were sued for back in the mid 90s.

Wasn't that for anti-trust violations?

If google was buying out other browsers then maybe I can see that. I'm happy with Safari. Tried chrome. Meh.

They were taken to court a few times, once was the famous MS V Netscape thing...

They're not buying them out, just using the huge advertising power they've got to an unfair advantage...
