Help please, I think this issue is driver related... I have a built in speaker on my desktop, and sound does not work, after reinstalling windows. I think this is because I lost a driver, like my TPLINK, I lost it and i had to reinstall the driver and it works now... but the multimedia audio driver.. I cant find the driver anywhere... Help would be much appreciated 8)

Go to device manager and the sound card will have a question mark on it, right click, click properties and find the exact model of it..

You can either search on google for it or post it here and i'll get you a link...

The pc has a speaker inside? You don't mean the beeper do ya? Every PC has a beeper, either as a speaker or a tiny one soldered onto the mainboard.. That's to sound bios errors, as a kind of Morse code. You won't hear anything esle out of it...

I've never heard of a pc having a speaker for actually listening to stuff from before... It'd have to have an amplifier built in too.. which seems unlikely....

Either way, check that model number! The driver shouldn't be too hard to find, unless it's really old and obscure...  :-/

Ok the device is called
'Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver'
Manufacturer - VIA technologies.
After googling it and installing a driver, the pc restarted itself and said it recovered from a serious error, I deleted that driver...

You want the name of the device, not the name of the driver... If it's not working, it must need the driver installing, or the correct one installing. Find the device name, not driver name.

Check your error log to see what the cause of the error was.
